I was given a pair of jeans to hem the bottoms of the legs. It was a simple job, didn't have to cut the jeans, the length needed was easy to hem.
All I had to do was fold the jeans and pin:
So I got to this.
The next stage is preparing the machine, having navy as the top thread and as the bobbin (bottom) thread a colour that matches the other stitching on show. In this case a light brown/orange.
This is what it should look like, the thread on the inside of the jeans should blend in to the fabric.
The outside should look roughly like this. It must match the other thread details as closely as possible.
There are other ways to hem trousers, the stitch can be hidden, it can be hand sewn.
Thank you for reading, have a great weekend, hope to blog on Saturday or Monday.
