My Way to Make a Headband

I'm sourcing and editing items of clothes to make a customer a hippie costume. Today I made a headband and this was the way I did it.

The first thing I did was measure his head.

Using this measurement + 0.5" (seam allowance), I marked it out with pins.

Then, I decided that 2" is the width I want the band. So the width needs to be 5" (1" seam allowance). I marked that out and cut it.

Pin the right sides of the long sides together and sew 0.5" in.

Sewing Bag out

I then bagged out, this is the best way to explain.

After this iron the fabric like this

Once bagged out, stitch the front sides together.

Threading elastic in my headband

I cut the elastic roughly 13", I suggest that if you made this to do it longer, 20" at most.

Safety pin one end of the elastic to the opening. Safety pin another to the other end of the elastic and follow the video.

Sew the two elastic ends together.

Finally, hand stitch the opening and your done.

If you have any question just ask  and if you want me to make anything just ask.
